Crafted and developed over the course of two years, Stitched Reverie is a collection of lingerie that speaks to the feminine experience.
Growing into my body and becoming a woman was a challenge, and one that was eased for me by collecting lingerie. The first solo drive I went on after getting my license was to buy a lace bra, and it is clear to me now that this act of self love was a defining moment.
There is something to be said about the power of feeding your feminine. When I learned how to crochet, I knew I wanted to give myself the gift of that power.
As my skills developed, I approached the medium of lingerie with an experimental mindset. Each look was a chance to learn a new technique while adding to a collection that fulfilled me.
Although I originally designed with myself in mind, I didn’t want to limit my knowledge of the feminine experience to one cis person. Through developing meaningful relationships with my trans friends, I began to understand more about the purpose of my work: to affirm gender identity.
This collection is dedicated to LGBTQ+ community and our fight for feminine expression and gender euphoria.
Originally made in Spring 2023, this acid dyed and crocheted (aside from the yellow bows which were icord knit) set was an experiment in color and structure. The new and improved version features a crochet garter belt embroidered with vintage buttons and is paired with sewn undies.
The first sketch of this outfit was made in November of 2022 and Arabella came to life soon after in a SCAD Fibers class. This look now features a darling crochet bonnet in addition to the bra, bloomers and garter.
My most recent outfit crafted using the following processes: hand and machine sewing, dyeing, embroidery, bead weaving, crochet, ceramic hand building, and machine knitting.
This look features a crochet mesh top and skirt set with blue pearls embedded in the stitches, a pair of sewn boxer briefs, and machine knit stocking bows.
The base was machine knit with a single motif. The cherries used to be bright red, but I ended up duplicate stitching over them with a raspberry yarn. The lace was sewn on to the bra and the undies have a purple crochet element. The yellow bows and garter were all machine knit.
